The SPCA of Brevard is ran by passionate, progressive people that work day in and day out to save as many dogs and cats as possible. We opened our doors to animals looking for homes over 40 years ago. We are proud to be a "Loving, Caring, Protecting", No-Kill shelter, which means that animals stay with us until they find their forever home. The SPCA of Brevard Adoption Center in Titusville is looking for volunteers! If you are an animal lover looking to make a difference, this the opportunity for you.

We are pleased to offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for kids under the age of 16. Youth may volunteer with a parent, guardian, or approved family member 

21 Dec 2020 You must meet the following criteria in order to become a volunteer with the Brevard Humane Society: Commit to volunteering a minimum of 50  Adopt. Over 3,500 pets are rescued and adopted each year from the Maryland SPCA.

The SPCA’s Angel Fund: Created to help members of our community who are most in need of access to veterinary services for their pets. Through private contributions to the Fund, we have been able to assist several low-income families with needed veterinary care.

Our programs are designed to help fulfill Florida Statute 233.061 which requires Florida schools to teach kindness to animals as part of their curriculum. After you and your chaperon or guardian (18 years+) have both submitted volunteer applications and have attended a volunteer orientation you are welcome to volunteer within our organization. Junior volunteers can tag along as you help out, and participate in several activities such as puppy socialization, kitten socialization, grooming, reading to companions, etc.

Les was with the SPCA of Brevard as the shelter veterinarian from 2015-2017, then after a short stint in the cold weather up north, decided to return to Florida and the Brevard SPCA in 2020 for good. During her time off, Dr. Les spends time with her fiancé going for runs, hiking, and visiting the beach.

From Bark Buddies, Kitty Cuddlers and retail thrift store helpers, to home crafts brought in for our friends enrichment or even Foster Parents for dogs & cats, our shelter pets thrive from our volunteers!
